Candida Albicans – This is one of the major sources of yeast infections in infants. Due to the child’s still low and immature immune system, Candida Albicans are able to penetrate them. However, most infections brought about by Candida Albicans do heal on its own.
Child Birth – This is one of the reasons why infants get yeast infection in the first place. At birth this may be passed on the child by their mother. This may have been contracted by their mother due to hormonal changes during her pregnancy.
Sweets – This is one of the root causes of yeast infections in infants. Yeast thrives on sugar and other sweet food. So once you feed your child something sweet, you are actually feeding the yeast that is now thriving inside your child’s body. Once there is an abnormal growth of yeast, your child is now susceptible to having yeast infection.
Soiled and Wet Diapers – Yeast are known to thrive in wet and dark areas. One of their favorite places is soiled and wet diapers. Since diapers are either wet with urine or soiled with feces, they enjoy living in it. You may notice some kind of a rashes forming in your child’s lower body that is not an ordinary rash, it is a sign that yeast infection is already building up. So it is advised that you frequently check your child’s diaper for wetness or change it as soon as you noticed that your child’s diaper is already soiled with feces. Keeping your child clean and dry will make the yeast not to form, and leaving your child happy and comfortable.
