There are five main sizes of bed to choose from when considering which bed size you wish to buy. The smallest is a single bed size which is ideal for young children, as they generally smaller than adults so do not require so much sleeping space. The next bed going up in size is the queen size bed, which in size is between a single and a double. So if you want something slightly larger than a single bed for say a teenager this is the ideal size. Next comes the double bed size, which is probably the most popular size for any two people sleeping together. For people who prefer a little bit more room, or for the more restless people the next size is the king size bed. For those who want super opulence what is more prefect than the super king size.
Now we know what sizes we have to choose from you have to consider the surroundings in which your bed is going to be placed. The most obvious factor is the size of the room. It is pure stupidity trying to place a king size bed into a room only designed for a single bed. What is the point of having a luxurious bed to sleep in and no room to manoeuvre around it. If space is really tight you might consider a fold up bed. Another factor to take into consideration are what other furnishings you have in the room. Also you have to consider the height of the room. You may wish to purchase a four poster bed, but if you live in a cottage with low ceilings this may be an impossible feat. You may also have to consider the position of doors and windows. Also you have to consider how many people the bedroom has to contain. If you have a compact room and you need to find room for several people bunk beds may be a good. Or if you have a large room and a good sized family who like to pile into one bed at the weekend you will probably consider buying a super king size. If you would like something a little less conventional why not go for a custom made bed to your own specifications. This may cost a little more but you will get the bed of your dreams.
Guest beds can be bought which have an under bed mattress built in. You can buy children’s cabin beds with built in under mattresses if you have children who like to have their friend’s sleep over. Also available are single and double beds with built in under mattresses. They are easy to assemble as you just simply pull out the mattress from under the bed and either pull down the legs which fold up under the mattress or twist them on. To store away again, simply push back under the main bed.
So to conclude this article, always check the size of the space where you would like the bed to be fitted to ensure that there is enough space!
